The Eagles may be headed for the postseason, but there’s one player who will now be unable to make his first playoff appearance. According to Mike Garafolo, TE Tyree Jackson tore his ACL last night.

The game started positively enough for the former Bills QB, whose first ever NFL reception went for a touchdown. Unfortunately, he was unable to finish the game and left with a knee injury in the fourth quarter.

Initial reports were that the injury wasn’t severe. But an MRI has revealed the worst and Jackson will now miss a huge chunk of time.

This is really unfortunate. Jackson had to miss the opening half of the season due to an injury picked up right at the end of the Summer, a Summer that was ultimately headlined by his consistent big-time catches. To now suffer a torn ACL is yet another bump in the road for a tight end who many believe possesses a really high ceiling.

The Eagles were without Dallas Goedert and Jack Stoll last night. Both should return for their wildcard matchup, but it really sucks that Jackson won’t have the opportunity to make his mark and will instead have to spend the foreseeable future working his way back from another injury.

Here’s to hoping for a full and speedy recovery for a prospect who fans fell in love with during Training Camp.
