The starters put on a show helping to put the game away early, leading to some “old school management.” Joel Embiid led the way with 36 points, but it wasn’t just his contribution; every single starter scored 14 or more points leading to a 23 point lead after three quarters.

The starters have really proved themselves so far this series, especially Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. While Simmons may have only scored 14 minutes, his defense and energy in the rebounding battle have been a clear tone-setter for the Sixers. Joel Embiid, meanwhile, is leading the team in scoring over the first three games and has been nothing short of dominant.

The only thing truly concerning about this game is that the Sixers’ bench only managed to score 13 points in the first 40 minutes of the game. Obviously, the starters carried the team tonight, but at some point, they will need the bench to contribute. Shake Milton has struggled immensely in the playoffs, and George Hill struggled to pick up the slack tonight. The Sixers have one of the top starting lineups in the NBA, but it could end up meaning nothing if their bench can’t find a spark.

After this win, the Philadelphia 76ers are now just one win away from sweeping the Washington Wizards and heading to the second round of the NBA playoffs. The battle isn’t over yet, but the Wizards are on the brink of elimination, and there doesn’t seem to be anything Bradley Beal or Russell Westbrook can do to stop it.

Philadelphia will look to finish the series, and the Washington Wizards, on Monday, May 31st, at 7:00 PM EST.
