The Sixers find themselves back in the win column after quieting the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to Furkan Korkmaz’s big game.
Just a shellacking of a game tonight as Joel Embiid put up an impressive 27 points in 27 minutes. It wasn’t the most surprising game in terms of the end result, but that doesn’t matter to the Philadelphia 76ers, who are certainly happy to bounce back from Friday night’s terrible loss to the Pelicans. What was surprising, though, is the game Furkan Korkmaz put together.
Sixer Of The Game – Furkan Korkmaz
It’s no surprise, but Furkan Korkmaz is the Sixer of the game tonight. Simply put, Korkmaz was incredible in this game. It was the most complete game of his entire career. He finished with 20 points, four rebounds, and a career-high five steals. Getting done on both ends is new to see from Korkmaz, but it’s certainly a welcome addition to his game.
Korkmaz was playing with a level of effort that was the exact opposite of how the team played against New Orleans. If Korkmaz can’t keep playing anywhere near this level, expect him to have a solid role in the post-season rotation.
Beyond that, Korkmaz is playing for a contract next season also. The more games like this, the more money in his pocket next season.
Up Next For The Sixers
The Sixers will next be moving on to Dallas, where they will face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks are in the midst of a hot streak of sorts as they are 7-3 in their last ten games. The Sixers will need to pull out all the stops to slow down Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
The Sixers will have tomorrow off and face off against Dallas at 7:30 PM EST on Monday. This game will be a real test of the Sixers’ ability.
