Report: Eagles miss out on star FA cornerback Byron Jones

After a hectic few hours to kick off the NFL’s legal tampering period, the Miami Dolphins have dealt a lethal blow to the Philadelphia Eagles.

For anyone that knows me on a personal level, I am not okay and am taking self-isolation to the next level with this move.

Howie Roseman may have missed the boat here. James Bradberry is signing with the Giants and now Byron Jones is signing with the Dolphins. Philadelphia simply cannot afford to let the cream of the cornerback crop slip through their fingers without a very strong contingency plan in place.

The Eagles are still set to lose both Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills to free agency and although they do have a flurry of young corners at their disposal, it’s clear that upgrades are needed – be it through trade or the NFL Draft.

For now, we weep.

We are forgetting about Darius Slay though….

Let me share my undaunted faith in Howie Roseman and the Eagles’ front office. The FA process may not be as easy as it looks: the player may want a particular franchise, the price may be too high, or other plans may be in place. So please wait until the FA/draft process is completed before drawing any conclusions.
