In lieu of their injuries, the Philadelphia 76ers need some change. With the trade deadline coming up, they also need to see if they have anything to spark their bench down on their farm. So, the Philadelphia 76ers have recalled Marial Shayok.
The prolific G-League scorer has been carrying his weight for the Delaware Blue Coats this season. The 24-year-old, 2019 second-round pick has been quite the surprise for Delaware. Through 25 games, Shayok has started in 23. His numbers are in 29.4 minutes a night show he has natural scoring ability.
The former Iowa State Cyclone has averaged 23.3 points per game, with 5.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds. Since his hot start to the season, Shayok has cooled off a bit, however, has displayed some of his NBA potential. Fans have drooled over his scoring ability, and most have wanted him to be brought up for months now.
This move could be a sign that the Sixers may be lining up a trade in the coming 24 hours, and Shayok could be filling a hole in the bench. Whatever the case may be, it’s finally Shayok time.
