Following a gross loss to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night, the Philadelphia Flyers have made a roster move. This move is more than likely to accommodate Michael Raffl coming back to the Flyers after recovering from his broken pinky finger. However, it’s at the expense of Morgan Frost, sending him back down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The original feeling was that Andy Andreoff would be sent back down to the Phantoms after he cleared waivers. With Frost lent to Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia removes Raffl off of long term injury-reserve.

Recently, Morgan Frost has seemed to lose his momentum with the Philadelphia Flyers. Sending him back down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms could not only provide a jump to Frost’s play but a jump to the Phantoms team. Frost hasn’t had a goal since his second game in orange and black. In 18 games, Frost has nine points with two goals and seven assists.

Tonight, Andy Andreoff and Nicolas Aube-Kubel will play on the same line with Michael Raffl at center. With Scott Laughton still sidelined, Andreoff stays on the Philadelphia Flyers roster. Once Laughton is ready to go, prepare for Andreoff to be lent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms like how Morgan Frost is tonight. This isn’t a reason to fret about Frost. Expect him to rendezvous back to the Flyers roster later this season.

With a win tonight against the Anaheim Ducks, the Philadelphia Flyers will be tied for third place in the Metropolitan Division. If the Islanders lose, the Flyers make up significant ground in the division. Here’s to Morgan Frost helping out the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Michael Raffl elevating Philadelphia tonight. Puck drop is at 8:30 pm from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
