The Eagles have released their second injury report ahead of their clash with the New York Giants and it’s not exactly looking pretty.
The biggest name to note here is Zach Ertz, who suffered a rib fracture in last week’s win over Dallas. The Eagles brought back former Packer Richard Rodgers earlier this week, perhaps hinting at the fact Ertz could miss time. Not practicing on Thursday only adds to that speculation and with Rodgers mostly known for his blocking prowess, it would mean that Goedert and Perkins become the two prominent receiving tight ends this Sunday.
Nelson Agholor didn’t participate due to a lingering knee injury and it’s speculated that he could end up on IR soon in order to find some depth. The Eagles are already suffering from a lack of it as it is at wide receiver and with their second-round pick also listed here, it’s not a strong sign.
Lane Johnson also missed practice as he continues to work his way back from a high ankle sprain. If he’s unable to go, Big V will take his place as he has for the last two weeks.
Fletcher Cox, Brandon Brooks, and Derek Barnett were all listed on the injury report last week but still played so there’s reason for less concern when it comes to the trio in the trenches, while Jalen Mills should also be good to go on Sunday, but would be backed up by the clutch-king in Sidney Jones if not.
RB Jordan Howard will likely see an RB3 role upon his return to the offense, with Pederson telling reporters today he will continue to ride the hot hand in Miles Sanders.
