Here it is folks! Week 16 is finally here and it’s everything we knew it would be! Eagles. Cowboys. For all the marbles, well kind of. As it stands right now, here’s the current state of the NFC East:
1. Cowboys 7-7
2. Eagles 7-7
3. Redskins 3-11
4. Giants 3-11
Cowboys currently hold the division lead due to their divisional record. They’re currently 4-0 vs NFC East opponents while the Eagles are 3-1. If the Eagles can take down the Cowboys in Philly they will take the lead in the division due to their common opponent’s record.
While the Redskins and Giants are officially eliminated, both teams can play a huge role in who wins the division in week 17 but that’s not why you’re here! You’re here right now because your either stoked about this Sunday’s game or panicking because of how the Cowboys have owned the Eagles in the last four matchups.
I understand your concern but have no fear, Carson Wentz is still here! For the first time since his rookie season, Wentz has played past week 13. This is a huge sigh of relief and even though the team has struggled mightily, they’re still in the race for the playoffs. This would be the first time Wentz has actually played meaningful football in his career and who better to face then his rival, Dak Prescott.
While Prescott has been nursing a shoulder injury that he suffered in week 15, he’s not the main concern for the Eagles. Instead, the Eagles need to focus on two players that have destroyed them in the last two seasons. One being the undeniable force, Ezekiel Elliott. The other being the quick-footed Amari Cooper. Both can really change the momentum of this game if they get their hands on the ball.
Week 16 is going to be nothing short of fireworks and that’s for sure. It’s do or die for The Eagles. It’s an opportunity to clinch for the Cowboys. Nothing is bigger than this.
