Meet your Penn State Basketball class of 2019

Penn State basketball has once again put together an impressive recruiting class. The 2019 class gives you toughness, scoring, strength and defense all in one. This year’s class was ranked 50th in the nation by 247 sports.

The top prospect of this recruiting class is 4-star two-way small forward Seth Lundy he is 6’5 200 and one of the toughest players in the country. He is ranked the 157th prospect, 37th ranked small forward, and 7th ranked prospect in Pennsylvania by 247 sports. He plays great defense is tough to stop on the drive and has a long-range jumper to add. His energy is felt by the team he plays for. Lundy averaged 13.7 points 5.9 rebounds 2.5 assists 1.2 steals while shooting 45% FG 39% 3PT 70% FT for Roman Catholic high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Abdou Tsimbila is a 6-8 220 3-star power forward who played for St. Maria Goretti in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is the 5th ranked prospect in Maryland, 47th ranked center, and 253rd ranked prospect in the 2019 class by 247 sports. Tsimbila is athletic for his size. He will be able to run up and down the floor and make an impact in transition. He is aggressive inside and has a nice game with his back to the basket. He gives the Nittany Lions a much-needed post presence and will learn a lot from Penn State power forward Mike Watkins.

Justin Mckoy is a 3-star small forward that can not only score in many ways but has a very polished all-around game. At 6’8 225 he also has the size and athleticism to play the power forward position. He gives Penn State much needed scoring depth to go with Rasir Bolton and Myles Dread that will provide a dangerous scoring trio. Mckoy averaged 24.5 points 10.5 rebounds 3.5 assists 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks for Panther Creek high school in Cary, North Carolina. He was the 15th ranked prospect in North Carolina, 87th ranked small forward, and 394th ranked prospect in the 2019 class by 247 sports.

3-star small forward Patrick Kelly plays for arguably the most talented high school in the country, IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is a good shooter at 6’8 205 and has the athleticism to run with this Penn State team and be a factor. Kelly is ranked the 418th prospect, 92nd ranked small forward, and 29th prospect in Florida by 247 sports.
