Philly College Hoops Recap & Preview: Conference Tournaments edition

Philadelphia: The best time of the year for College Basketball fans has arrived and it is March Madness. Let’s take a look at what the Philadelphia teams will be doing during conference tournament week.

Temple:
Fran Dunphy & the Temple Owls are flying high as they enter the American Athletic Conference tournament, following a win over UCF on March 9 to end the regular season.

The Owls received a first-round bye and will be the number 3 seed. The Owls will play the winner of Wichita St./East Carolina on Thursday, March 14 at PM on ESPNU from FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN.

Villanova:
Jay Wright & the Villanova Wildcats are feeling a little better after they fell to Seton Hall on March 9 as Marquette lost and gave the Wildcats the Big East Regular season championship.

The Wildcats will be the number 1 seed in the Big East Tournament and will take on the winner of Providence/Butler on Thursday, March 14 at 12 PM on FS1 from Madison Square Garden in New York

LaSalle:
The LaSalle Explorers had a bumpy road during the first season under coach Ashley Howard

Explorers will enter the Atlantic 10 Tournament as the number 9 seed as they battle with 8th seed Rhode Island on Thursday, March 14 at 12 PM on NBCSN from Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY.

Penn:
Steve Donahue and the Penn Quakers had to play their way into postseason play after a late hot-streak to make the Ivy League Tournament.

The Quakers will be the number 4 seed as they take on the number 1 seed Harvard in the Ivy League Tournament on Saturday, March 16 at 12:30 PM on ESPNU from Payne Whitney Gymnasium on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT.

Saint Joseph’s:
Phil Martelli and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks come to the conference tournament on a 2 game losing streak.

The Hawks will be the number 10 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament as they take on the Duquesne  Dukes on Thursday, March 14 at 6 PM on NBCSN
from Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY.

Drexel:
The Dragons season came to an end on March 10 when they fell to College of Charleston in the CAA Quarterfinals. Drexel record if 13-19.
