Philadelphia: As the entire nation gets ready for Super Bowl, we had a big game at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia as the Villanova Wildcats took on the Georgetown Hoyas. Villanova comes into the game at 17-4, 8-0 in Big East and off a win over DePaul on January 30 for their 8th straight win in conference play. Georgetown enters battle against the Wildcats at 14-7, 4-4 in Big East and off a win over Xavier on January 31.
Villanova wins the tip to start the game and Georgetown would score first with 2 at the line, Villanova got on the board on a dunk from Eric Paschall. Paschall would score 7 of the 10 points for the Wildcats to start the game. Georgetown would keep it close but the Wildcats would have an answer. One of the plays in the game was a made by Phil Booth, as he would keep the ball from going out of bounds and then scores and gets fouled

The Wildcats would have a lead of 7 points and the Hoyas would come back and retake the lead with 3 pointer to end the half as Hoys lead 34-33.
In the Second half, Villanova and Georgetown would trade baskets, play good defense. The game would be tied at 53 with 7:27 left and the Wildcats would start to take over lead by Eric Paschall, Colin Gillespie, Phil Booth would make some big shots down the stretch. A Crowd of 14,506 would see the Wildcats take down Hoyas 77-65 to go 9-0 in the Big East, Last time Villanova started 9-0 in Big East was in 2009-10.
Villanova now goes to 18-4 and will now get ready for battle with Creighton on February 6 and Georgetown falls to 14-8 and will try to rebound from this loss as they take on Providence also on February 6.
