Philadelphia: What an interesting week we had in college basketball in city of Philadelphia, so let’s take a look at what happened and look to the action this week.
Temple:
Fran Dunphy and the Temple Owls are off to a very good start as they went 2-0 last week which saw them take down undefeated number 17th ranked Houston & won a very tight OT game vs South Florida

This week, the Owls take on ECU on January 16 at ECU and then go to battle with Big 5 Rival Penn on Saturday at The Liacouras Center at 5 PM on CBS Sports Network, this game will also mark the final time that Fran Dunphy will go against his former team the Penn Quakers.
Villanova:
Jay Wright and the Villanova Wildcats now have things going in the Big East Conference as they went 2-0 which included wins over 24th ranked St John’s at Finneran Pavilion, Phil Booth with a huge shot that gave the Wildcats the lead in their win over St John’s

With those wins, the Wildcats returns to the AP top 25 as they come in at number 22 & This week, Villanova takes on Xavier on Friday, January 18 at 8:30 PM on FS1 from Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia.
Penn:
Steve Donahue and the Penn Quakers are looking to get back to their winning ways as they are on a 4 game losing with their latest loss came to their Ivy League Rivals Princeton on Saturday at the Palestra

The Quakers will try to end the losing streak as they take on Big 5 Rivals the Temple Owls on Saturday, January 19 at 5 PM on CBS Sports Network from Temple University.
Drexel:
Zach Spiker & the Drexel Dragons went 1-1 on the road last week as they took down College of Charleston & fell to UNCW.
The Dragons will return to the Daskalakis Athletic Center for 2 games starting on Thursday against Towson & then James Madison on Saturday.
LaSalle:
Ashley Howard & the LaSalle Explorers would not have a good week as they went 0-2 which saw losses to VCU on January 9th and then a missed opportunity loss to Saint Louis on January 12.

The Explorers will look to get back in the win column as they take on George Washington on January 16 & then take on Rhode Island on January 19. Both games are at home at Tom Gola Arena.
Saint Joseph’s:
Phil Martelli & the Saint Joseph’s Hawks had a very interesting week they went 0-2 with losses to St Bonaventure & Duquesne.
The Hawks would get some bad news from the loss to Duquesne as they would lose Pierfrancesco Oliva who dislocated his left knee and has ligament damage & done for the season and Lamarr Kimble suffered a fracture in his right hand & will undergo further evaluation
