Penn State & Princeton play to draw at Wells Fargo Center

Philadelphia: It is very cool to see College Hockey come to an NHL Arena and that is what we had on Saturday Night as Penn State Nittany Lions took on Princeton Tigers in the 6th Annual Philadelphia College Hockey Faceoff from the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. Penn State has played in the previous 5 College Hockey Faceoff games in Philadelphia with a 3-2 record.

Lines for both Princeton & Penn State

Princeton would open the scoring 2:24 into the game as Josh Teves beat goalie Peyton Jones for the 1-0 lead, The Nittany Lions would answer back at 3 minutes later as Brandon Biro put the shot past goalie Ryan Ferland to tie the game at 1. Nittany Lions would add to the lead in the first with goals from Nate Sucese shorthanded & Chase Berger, as they took a 3-1 lead at the end of 1st.

How the Wells Fargo Center sounds when Penn State Scores

Penn State would make it 4-1 in the second period on goal from Alec Marsh. from there everyone though Princeton was done but not so fast, the Tigers would make things very interesting as they would score the last 3 goals from end of 2nd to the 3rd period with the last one from Ryan Kuffner with under 2 minutes left in the 3rd period to tie the game at 4.

The game would end in a 4-4 tie and a crowd of 8,490 would see a very entertaining College Hockey game, Penn State is now 3-2-1 all time at the Wells Fargo Center.

Peyton Jones would make 31 saves on 35 shots while Princeton used both goalies in Ryan Ferland & Austin Shaw and between the two of then they made 33 saves on 37 shots.
