After missing the offseason so far due to ankle surgery, Eagles DE Brandon Graham has officially been activated from the PUP list, according to an official announcement from the team.

Graham has been ‘ahead of schedule’ in rehabbing the ankle surgery he had back in May, according to the coaching staff. The injury was to heal a high ankle sprain which he suffered in week 16 of the regular season. Graham would soldier through the pain en-route to his first ever Super Bowl and one of the most memorable plays of all time.

The veteran led the team in sacks with 9.5 last season and his presence in Schwartz’s pass-rush machine is immense. Missing him for any amount of time would hurt, but it looks as though the Eagles will have their most explosive pass-rusher back in the mix just in time for a clash with the Falcons.

This is important for Graham, too, who is entering his contract year and is yet to be offered a contract extension. At the age of 30, this could be his final bid at the long-term deal he deserves and a big season could be what’s needed to finally be granted that wish, securing his long-term future in Philadelphia.

The main takeaway though is that Graham is back practicing and seems likely to be on the field in the season opener.
