Today marked the start of rookie minicamp for the Philadelphia Eagles and among their crop of undrafted free agent signees was offensive lineman, Ian Park. That name may not sound too familiar at first, but the iconic PR staff who look after the Eagles Twitter feed released something that will jog your memory.
Say Halo to #Eagles OL Ian Park. #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/BkiV3IQvUx

That’s right. Park was the original ‘Halo kid’. In case you’ve forgotten, here’s the original viral video that took off back in 2016.

The original tweet garnered more than 5 million total views, which is absolutely staggering.
Park is much more than a sweet serenade of one of the greatest theme songs in the history of video games however. At 6’4, 315 lbs, this offensive guard spent one season at Slippery Rock after graduating from Northwestern. He may have only played in six games but was still named first-team all-PSAC last year and started 18 games for his former school. An athletic zone-blocking prospect (perfect for the Eagles), Park lacks the strength desired by coaches at the next level but will be hoping his quick feet and specialty in pulling blocks will translate to a much higher level of competition.
It seems as if the Eagles have taken a shine to him, but can he stop the covenant from blitzing master chief? Rookie minicamp will help us find out…
