Points At A Premium
With 8 games remaining in the season, every point the Flyers get from here on out is more valuable then ever. Over the final 8 games, the Flyers can get a max of 16 points.
If the Flyers get those 16 points, they will end the season with 102 points. Plenty enough to make the playoffs.
However, with only 8 games remaining, you can take 2 points off that total for each time the Flyers lose. If the Flyers go on a losing streak, that number could drop fairly quickly.
A good number for the Flyers to aim for is 96. They can get there by having a winning record over their final 8 games. Something like 5-3-0 or 4-2-2.
Whose The Starter?
With Michael Neuvirth aiming to return on the quick 2-game west road trip next week, who starts for the Flyers now?
Mrazek has struggled ever since his first 3 games with the team and Lyon cant seem to find his outstanding form in his relief appearances when he starts.
Therefore, whose the starter?
Well, if I was a betting man, my money would be on Mrazek due to his NHL track record. But, Alex Lyon has done nothing but impress over his last 3 appearances and deserves a shot to start.
So, I guess we will find out tomorrow at somepoint because the Flyers are in a period now of optional morning skates.
