It’s been a tough 24 hours for fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s been a bizarre 24 hours for the Eagles themselves who were crowned NFC East Champions on the same eve they lost their franchise quarterback to a heartbreaking injury. But it has been a heartbreaking 24 hours for the one man at the center of it all, Carson Wentz.
The Eagles quarterback had just broken a single-season franchise record for most touchdowns, amassing 34 already this season with 3 games to spare when disaster struck. Wentz took a heavy hit when darting for the end zone for a touchdown and got up a little wobbly. Wentz stayed out there like a Soldier and fired a dart to Alshon Jeffery for six points. Limping off the field, it was later confirmed Wentz tore his ACL and would miss the remainder of the season.
Nearly one day after the injury, Wentz took to social media to reassure fans that he will come back stronger than ever.
Some quick thoughts for everyone. Can’t thank my family, friends, teammates, and fans enough. Love y’all! #AO1 pic.twitter.com/vBwxG4So5N

It’s incredibly emotional to see Wentz talking about such a devastating injury with such composure and calmness, a true testament to how much faith he has in the Lord and his mindset. The leadership of Wentz has long been praised, but to see him talk so positively and immediately begin supporting the team is such a selfless act in a time where it must be easy to focus on yourself.
Wentz ended his season soaring into the record books. 3,296 yards, 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions simply do not do his staggering success justice. An MVP candidate in every sense of the term, the pride of North Dakota State surpassed every expectation lay before him and emerged into one of the most exciting signal-callers in the league.
Well, if you won’t say it, I will.
That’s my quarterback.
