Long overdue…
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they’ll be sending #88 to the rafters this season! Finally!
We're sending #88 to the rafters.
The #Flyers will retire #88 jersey of Eric Lindros on Jan. 18: https://t.co/Prayc9rb7D https://t.co/7XVxe2boTp

Lindros was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year and played a total of 13 NHL seasons. His time spent with the Flyers, Rangers, Maple Leafs and Stars never lacked it’s share of drama or excitement. He and his Legion of Doom line mates, John LeClair and Mikael Renberg, formed one of the most infamous lines in NHL history and their presence of the ice struck fear into opposing players.
After amassing 659 points in 486 for the Flyers alone, it’s a wonder it took the organization this long to retire Big E’s number. As a 7-time NHL all-star, Hart Memorial trophy winner and Hall of Famer, Lindros deserves nothing but admiration from the fans, so congratulations to The Next One, see you on January 18th!
