With the commencing of the NFL’s legal tampering period, it’s been a busy day..and once again, no shortage of Eagles rumors. One of the most prominent has been the reported interest in former Texans cornerback, A.J Bouye..but that isn’t the only name who is enticing the birds.

According to one source who requested anonymity, the Eagles are also hot on the heels of former Cardinals cornerback, Marcus Cooper. The 27-year old was named a Pro Bowl alternate in 2016 after a year in which he recorded 4 interceptions and 69 tackles. Cooper thrived in Arizona but due to the Cards’ limited cap space, he has been allowed to test the free agency waters.

It’s also interesting that Cooper was of course a former pupil of Andy Reid in Kansas City. Although he was traded by Big Red, the 6’2 corner fits the Eagles emerging prototype for long corners who can contribute in numerous facets of the game. The price is said to be rising for Cooper, but with the hype surrounding Bouye among others, this could be a chance for the Eagles to poach a corner with a lot of potential for a cheaper price.

It’s even MORE interesting then, that the Eagles have been linked with Kenny Britt just yesterday, a former teammate of Cooper during their Rutgers days. Could a potential reunion be on the cards?

The other corner being linked with the Eagles, is former Jaguar, Davon House. According to a different source who has again requested anonymity, the Eagles have showed some early interest in the former 4th-round pick by Green Bay, unlike they did back in 2015 when the team had yet another glaring need at corner. The result saw House land in Jacksonville, where he set a single-season franchise record for pass breakups, amassing 23 later that year. He signed a four-year deal worth $24.5M, but due to the Jags cap restrictions and a starting job lost due to “non-football related” reasons, found himself being shopped by the team in the last few weeks, before being released just yesterday.

According to the source, the Eagles were aware that the release of House had seemingly slipped under-the-radar after his fall from stardom in 2016..and without a $6M hit that would have been acquired through trade, the prospect of rekindling some impressive man-coverage form is now a lot more enticing.

Both cornerbacks are also 27-years old..with Roseman’s “prototype” if you will consisting of a “28-year old” who can grow with the team. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles show any more interest in free agent cornerbacks, with the window opening in just two days.

**Update**
According to Brandon Krisztal of KOA NewsRadio, the Eagles have also shown interest in Broncos DB Kayvon Webster. After being drafted in 2013 by the Broncos, the 26-year old has seemingly regressed..potentially increasing his value. A strong rookie year was followed up by prominent snaps at special teams after stars Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr took the reins of the position and led it to glory. A potential low-risk, high-reward option for the Eagles, Webster may not be the most attractive option..but may be one of the cheapest.
