The never ending game of musical chairs that is the Eagles practice squad has just started a new round. This time, Linebacker Don Cherry has been re-signed in place of Offensive Lineman Darrell Greene, per an announcement from the team.

The former Villanova Linebacker has been switched in and out of the ten-man practice squad numerous times over the last few weeks..and the same can be said for Greene.
Cherry racked up five tackles in the Eagles preseason finale and after not seeing any snaps against the Colts. He previously performed well against the Steelers, racking up four tackles. In the 28% of snaps he played in the Eagles second preseason game, Cherry seemed to excel in coverage and wrapping up receivers..an area of concern for other linebackers on the roster.
The Eagles are still relatively light at Linebacker and the play of Mychal Kendricks isn’t exactly encouraging, so retaining Cherry on the practice squad almost seems like a no brainer after seventh round pick Joe Walker tore his ACL, ending his rookie season before it had a chance to start.
