Report: Detroit Lions could be without two key players against Eagles

It seems as though the Eagles have a completely clean bill of health coming off of their early Bye-week, but the same can’t be said for their opponent this Sunday. ESPN’s Adam Caplan reported earlier today that the Detroit Lions are expected to be without both DE Ziggy Ansah and TE Eric Ebron.

The news only worsens for Detroit as their injury woes continue to chain them down in 2016.

Given that the Lions are already coming into the week 5 matchup against arguably the most dominant pass-rush in the league without Ameer Abdullah and could now be without feature TE Eric Ebron, the momentum is certainly shifting in favor of the Eagles.

Ebron already has 210 receiving yards on just 18 receptions this season..and received for 28 yards in the blowout win against the Eagles last year..but it was the Defensive End who really dug the knife deeper in that game.

Ezekiel Ansah recored 3.5 sacks against the Eagles last year in what was a dominant performance, but could be sat on the sidelines this weekend. Carson Wentz saw next to no pressure in week 3 against the Steelers and the Eagles will have a better chance at replicating the same level of pass protection if Ansah is unable to play for a third consecutive week, as he tries to recover from an ankle injury.

The Detroit injury situation is a stark contrast to the team where former Lions Head Coach now resides..and his hungry Defense will be sniffing blood at Ford Field on Sunday.
