The Eagles have officially confirmed that both Leodis McKelvin and Zach Ertz will be out for the team’s Monday Night Football clash with the Chicago Bears.

Zach Ertz suffered a rib displacement in the early stages of the season opener and as a result is likely to be sidelined for a few weeks. In his place, versatile tight end Trey Burton will make his first NFL start and could provide just as much explosiveness as Ertz. Burton stood out in Training camp and followed it up with a strong preseason where he received for 48 yards and a touchdown on 7 receptions. Many have been waiting to see what Burton can do after some impressive plays on what were limited looks Offensively in 2015.
McKelvin will likely be replaced by Jalen Mills on the outside, while Ron Brooks will see the majority of his Defensive snaps in the nickel formation. McKelvin was easily the best corner prior to his injury against the Browns..but can the seventh round pick out of LSU make his mark on the Eagles Defense as Eric Rowe did in a similar scenario last season?
