The Eagles look set to add a sixth member to their practice squad this morning according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

The former Villanova Linebacker racked up five tackles in the Eagles preseason finale and after not seeing any snaps against the Colts, a game like that was crucial to securing his NFL future.
Cherry performed well against the Steelers, racking up four tackles. In the 28% of snaps he played in the Eagles second preseason game, Cherry seemed to excel in coverage and wrapping up receivers..an area of concern for other linebackers on the roster.
He may not be a prolific pass rusher, but if there is any shot at making the practice squad or beyond, he needs to step up tonight and show that he can contribute in more than one aspect of the game.
The Eagles are still relatively light at Linebacker, so adding Cherry to the practice squad almost seems like a no brainer after seventh round pick Joe Walker tore his ACL, ending his rookie season before it had a chance to start.
The Eagles announced the first five of their practice squad signings last night, leaving just four spaces left to fill with the addition of Cherry.
