So within the space of an hour the Eagles have reportedly signed an assistant coach to work alongside Pat Shurmur, secured the hiring of future Head Coach Doug Pederson once the Chiefs season comes to a close and now they’re looking at what could potentially be the Eagles next Defensive Coordinator.
Source says Eagles have interest in Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. Do not know if he's Doug Pederson's DC choice, or the team's?

Source says Jim Schwartz has offers to serve as defensive coordinator from multiple teams. But not known if Eagles have made an offer yet.

According to SI.com’s Don Banks, the Eagles are showing interest in former Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz. Now with Pederson onboard and another assistant coach this could well be the start of an unstoppable overhaul train which would surely see the exit of Billy Davis.
It’s also worth noting that as it stands the hiring of Pederson is still unconfirmed by the team due to the Chief’s current post-season situation..but if Perderson has told the front office he want’s a new DC then this could well be a repercussion and for fans, be one more sign pointing towards this news being 100% official.
This season, Schwartz consulted for the NFL’s officiating department with the aim of bringing a coaching perspective on officiating game decisions. He also recently declined an offer for the same position (Defensive Coordinator) from the Miami Dolphins.
Prior to this year, Schwartz became the Defensive Coordinator for Buffalo, leading their unit to become one of the best in the NFL and lead the league in sacks. The Eagles have all the talent in the world on that side of the ball..they just need the right Coach to harness it and make the right decisions, is Schawrtz that man?
Even if Schwartz isn’t the guy they’re after..you can’t forget that the Eagles also made a coaching signing earlier today by bringing in Ken Flajole. Flajole was the Defensive Coordinator of the Rams between 2009-2011, meaning he was also working alongside Pat Shurmur. So if it turns out this Scwartz rumour does end in disappointment, The Eagles have signed someone with previous DC experience at the NFL level who most recently worked with the Browns Inside Linebackers..why would they make such an obscure signing if they weren’t either A) trying to stock up on coaches and help a new HC or B) find a replacement for Davis.
