Bethlehem Steel have recently announced who the first ever head coach for the USL side is going to be and that man is Brendan Burke.
BREAKING: Brendan Burke named inaugural head coach. Press conference tomorrow at 10 a.m. at PPL Park.

The former assistant coach of the Philadelphia Union is scheduled to give a press conference tomorrow at 10 AM EST. Burke left the Union back in January this year in search of other opportunities and was later named the coach of the Northeastern Huskies.
Before he became the youngest assistant coach in the history of the MLS in Philadelphia three years ago, and his work with the reserve side a year before, Burke coached Reading United. Just one year after his appointment, Burke took Reading to the regular season championship in 2009 and the team to the final four on two different occasions. With a 57-10-13 record, Burke is the most successful coach in the program’s history. The team has produced more professionals than any other PDL side.
Burke seems like the perfect candidate for the job having built up plenty of experience and a fine reputation. A lot of the players he has worked with in his time at Philadelphia will presumably be working under his lead once more which is only going to boost chemistry. We can expect to learn more about Brendan after tomorrow’s conference. We will also be aiming to interview him after the dust settles.
