Eagles Cornerback Byron Maxwell left the teams week 4 game with the Redskins early due to a Quad injury and remained on the bench for the rest of the game. However despite the recent setback, the former Legion of Boom member is determined to play against the Saints this weekend.
According to sources, Maxwell endured a quad contusion but is looking less damaging as time moves forward. But in a recent interview with NJ.com, the Corner had this to say. “It feels a little better, but I still can’t really run, and slowing down is hard.”
Despite his confidence of returning to play Drew Brees and company, his description sounds a little more serious. It could well be a game time decision like we saw with DeMarco Murray. If Maxwell were to miss the game then the green light would be shining for E.J Biggers presumably after making a brief appearance against the Redskins. Below him however Jerome Couplin and undrafted rookie Denzel Rice may well look to make the most of the opportunity.
