Former Eagles guard Evan Mathis has agreed to a one year deal with the Denver Bronco’s according to ESPN. The deal is estimated to be worth $4 million.
Should Mathis have stayed with the Eagles he would have been in a position to make $5.5 million. Because of the release, the Eagles actually saved $4.5million.
Mathis was cut by the Eagles following a contract conflict so there is a strange sense of irony seeing him settle for less money.
The 33 year old played in 56 games during his tenure with the team and earned two pro bowl appearances in the process.
