NFL Super Bowl Favorites

It’s hard not to favor the San Francisco 49ers or Baltimore Ravens when it comes to winning the Lombardi trophy this year. Both teams have been dominant (with a few hiccups), but if it comes down to it, the better quarterback might just tip the scales, and that honor falls on Lamar Jackson’s shoulders.

Best of the rest

The Buffalo Bills made light work of the Pittsburgh Steelers and will now clash with the Kansas City Chiefs. This is a winnable game for the Bills, although Kansas City dominating Miami in the tundra should be a sign that this won’t be easy.

The underdogs

Perhaps the biggest surprise of all this weekend came from the Green Bay Packers, who humiliated the Dallas Cowboys on their own turf. A dominant 48-point outing cemented the Packers as legit contenders, but now they have to get past the very best that the NFC has to offer in the way of San Francisco.

There is every reason to believe that the Detroit Lions can be a factor. The Bucs were hardly imposing their will on a lowly Eagles team, while Detroit was able to upstage the Los Angeles Rams. This game could go either way, but we’re guaranteed to have one underdog in the NFC Championship Game, which means it could be profitable to back either the Lions or Bucs if you fancy either team. Their odds are both over 10x higher than the likes of the Niners, so it may make sense to back an underdog, especially with the upsets we’ve already seen.

The Houston Texans will face the Ravens after winning their opening-round matchup against the Browns in sensational fashion. They’ll have to get past arguably the best team in the NFL right now, but at +2700 to win it all, they could well be worth a flutter given the brilliant play of C.J Stroud and solid coaching from DeMeco Ryans, with both looking unfazed up to this point.
