Jets vs Chargers: How do they stack up?
The Los Angeles Chargers have had a tough time of it this season. Their win over the Bears last week won’t have made up for sloppy defeats to the Cowboys and Titans, but it at least showed that they can start winning games in convincing fashion – something they’ve struggled to do in 2023.
Across from them will be a resurgent Jets team who are riding a 3-game win streak. A shock victory over the Eagles was followed up by a narrow win over the Giants, but one where the defense dominated the day. They’ll need to see more of the same if they are to stifle a Chargers offense that ranks 6th in passing yards per game.
Can Zach Wilson be what the Jets need him to be?
Zach Wilson was never expected to be an elite quarterback when he stepped in to relieve Aaron Rodgers. However, his play has been sub-par. 5 touchdowns and 5 picks through 7 games with a 58% completion percentage certainly isn’t ideal, but he’s also not making erratic plays for a defense to capitalize on.
What really won’t help here is that the Chargers’ run defense ranks 6th in the NFL. If the Chargers can suffocate the run and nullify the impact Breece Hall can have, it’s going to force Zach Wilson to have to throw his way to victory. Is that really a viable outcome? Does Zach Wilson have that ‘it’ factor? This will be a matchup that demands it.

Jets vs Chargers: Players to build prop bets around
Breece Hall
Breece Hall has been one of the league’s most electrifying backs this year, when hot. Over the last two weeks he’s combined for 56 yards on 24 carries. It’s not been great and he now faces a suffocating Chargers defense. This could be a great opportunity to back the under while Hall is struggling with a great run defense on deck.
Keenan Allen
It’s been a fairly quiet season for Keenan Allen so far (by his standards), but, as expected, he is still commanding a huge share of targets from Justin Herbert.
Allen leads the Chargers in touchdown receptions and receiving yards and is undoubtedly going to draw plenty of attention on Monday night.
Tyler Conklin
While the Chargers run defense is solid, the pass-defense certainly isn’t. The unit gives up 297 passing yards per game and while Conklin hasn’t exactly been a consistent factor this season, he still has 20 receptions for 227 yards.
Zach Wilson will want to find a security blanket against Los Angeles and Conklin could absolutely be that man.

Jets vs Chargers betting pick
As much as New York has a chance here, Los Angeles should view this as a must-win. The Chargers possess a potent offense and a stifling run defense. They should have the advantage at quarterback and that is likely to be the difference here.
Cowboys vs Eagles betting pick: Chargers -3.5
