The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for a primetime clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Monday Night showdown that is bound to bring the boom. The Eagles have a lot of untapped potential but the Bucs have shown they need to be taken seriously. Here are 5 bold predictions for tonight’s game.

Best Eagles vs Buccaneers betting offers

Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter to combine for 3+ sacks

Tampa Bay’s passing offense is built on timing. Baker Mayfield looks great because of it and they’ve been able to score with relative ease thanks to the ball coming out so quickly. The only problem with that is there is a weak link here and there.

LG Matt Feiler has a PFF grade of 59.5, and rookie RG Cody Mauch, who has been excellent thus far, is injured. That means the Bucs will be in shark infested waters and there is a pair of Georgia Bulldogs just waiting to bite.

The Eagles have struggled to sack quarterbacks this year because offenses insist on pushing the ball out quickly to beat the monstrous pass rush, but with a weakened offensive front, the Bucs might struggle to do that.

I predict the Georgia tandem to combine for 3+ sacks.

Jalen Hurts to throw for 250+ yards

Jalen Hurts is yet to pass the 200-yard mark this season. He’s been accountable and very calm when discussing a slow start to his 2023 season, and if we know anything about Jalen Hurts, the storms don’t last.

The Bucs have a great defense and it’s one that could suffocate the one. This just feels like a great spot for Hurts to prove his critics wrong for the millionth time. Primetime lights, a vaunted defense, and criticism that he’s not at his best.

I’m predicting Jalen Hurts to ball out and pass for 250+ yards for the first time in the 2023 season.

A.J Brown revenge game

In a prediction that directly correlates with the Jalen Hurts breakout, I’m expecting A.J Brown to be at the heart of the passing attack following a heated sideline discussion with his quarterback in week 2.

Jalen Hurts has a habit of ensuring a teammate gets his share if he ends up lacking targets or production. We saw it several times last year and there was definitely an effort to get Dallas Goedert the ball last week after a disappointing season-opener.

I’m expecting Hurts to seek out his best friend early and often, sending Brown to his first 100+ yard outing of the year.

Rachaad White UNDER 54.5 rushing yards -155

The Eagles already have one of the better run defenses in the NFL. Alex Mattison could do nothing against that brick wall and it’s not like Rhamondre Stevenson had any more luck.

Rachaad White is an average running back playing behind an offensive line that, as we know, has a weak link at guard in Matt Feiler, as well as an injury to its RG.

This should add an extra element of dominance to an already-impressive run-stuffing unit.

Getting the Job(e) done

The Eagles lost Avonte Maddox to a season-ending injury last week and have made no roster moves to negate this loss. That likely means that Nick Sirianni and Sean Desai are confident in the abilities of the corners they have in-house. The most likely candidate to move inside is James Bradberry, which will give Josh Jobe an opportunity to feast on a boundary island against a top-tier wideout in either Chris Godwin or Mike Evans.

Josh Jobe has consistently risen to the occasion during his time in Philadelphia and I can see the former Bama corner doing the same on Monday night. On a huge stage and in a test against one of the better receivers the league has to offer, I’m predicting Jobe to pick off a pass and make a statement, showing that Philadelphia can hang its hat on him.
