Panthers vs Saints: The Carolina Panthers host the New Orleans Saints on Monday night in a game that could go a long way in deciding the trajectory of the NFC South. The Panthers were the only team in the division not to pick up a win in the season opener and will be looking to right the ship against the Saints in their first home game of 2023.
With so many ways to bet, we’ve found 5 prop bets that should provide some HUGE value ahead of the Panthers vs Saints Monday Night Football clash.
Best Panthers vs Saints prop bets
Rashid Shaheed OVER 45 receiving yards +130
With Jaycee Horn OUT for the primetime matchup, Carolina’s secondary is going to have a lot to deal with. Chris Olave and Michael Thomas will command a ton of attention, but this is bound to leave a few openings for the likes of Rashid Shaheed, who recorded 89 yards and a touchdown in the season opener.
Shaheed recorded 488 yards through 12 games in 2022, including 34 against the Panthers. With a weaker secondary and a clear step forward in his development, Shaheed looks to be a real threat under the primetime lights in Panthers vs Saints.

Miles Sanders UNDER 64.5 rushing yards -120
If Derrick Henry could only amass 63 yards on 15 carries against one of the top run defenses in the NFL, it’s hard to imagine Miles Sanders doing much more damage than that. Sanders had 18 carries and amassed 72 yards in the opening game of Carolina’s season, but it’s clear that Chiba Hubbard is going to be a factor near the goal-line and on third downs.
The Saints should be able to stifle Carolina’s McCaffrey-less rushing attack and it could lead to a passing shootout where Bryce Young will need to start airing it out to keep pace. That gives us an edge when betting the under on Sanders’ total for Panthers vs Saints.

Bryce Young to throw an interception -145
The rookie QB threw a pair of picks in his opening game of the season and will now face a rampant Saints defense. With a weakened Carolina secondary potentially yielding a lot of yards, he’s going to have to sling it with confidence, which could lead to some aggressive and risky plays. At least 1 interception for an inexperienced passer against a defense like this one feels like a strong possibility.
Derek Carr to throw a 40+ yard pass +120
In a game without Jaycee Horn, the Saints offense will be licking its lips. Derek Carr found Chris Olave for a 45-yard gain in week 1, and Rashid Shaeed for a 41-yard gain in the opener, showing a surprising amount of aggression for an offense integrating a new quarterback. I expect a similar level of aggression in week 2 and at least another deep bomb to one of the Saints’ electric wideouts.
A 40-yard pass feels like it’s on the cards in Panthers vs Saints.
Hayden Hurst to score an anytime TD +380
D.J Chark is still questionable and the Panthers offense really struggled to do much of anything against Atlanta. While they won’t be expected to turn into the Chiefs overnight, there is some level of progression to be assumed as the team settles into its new foundation.
Jonathan Mingo recorded a couple of receptions for 17 yards in the opener but it was Hayden Hust who led the team in receiving with 41 yards and a touchdown. While Bryce Young continues to find his footing, he’ll struggle to do so without a complete receiving corps. While the pieces are still falling into place, expect Hayden Hurst to be somewhat of a security blanket for his rookie QB.
At +380 to score a touchdown, Hayden Hurst provides some serious value in the Panthers vs Saints matchup.
