NFL Week 2 odds: The Philadelphia Eagles started off their season with a win over the New England Patriots, but it was hardly a convincing one. There’s not too much time to reflect on the loss, however, with the Birds returning home to host the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.

The Eagles have opened up as 7.5 point home favorites for the clash against a growingly bitter NFC rival.

The Minnesota Vikings were slow out of the gate in their week 1 fixture against the Bucs, eventually falling 20-17 to Baker Mayfield and company. Much like the Eagles, everything was sloppy. The difference between the two is a 1 in the win collumn.

The Vikings turned the ball over 3 times in the loss to Tampa Bay, which doesn’t exactly bode well for a much more ferocious pass-rush and ball hawking secondary. However, the Eagles struggled to pressure away from keep Jalen Hurts in the season opener and that could rebalance things if the protection doesn’t improve.

It has now been confirmed that the Eagles will now be going into this matchup without starting MIKE LB Nakobe Dean, who is going to be out for several weeks with a foot injury.

The Vikings might be without Marcus Davenport, who was held out of the season opener with an injury. It also remains to be seen what happens to C Garrett Bradbury, who left the loss to the Bucs early on with an injury.

As far as the NFL Week 2 odds go, it appears as though Vegas is expecting Philadelphia to pick up the slack and that the injury to Nakobe Dean isn’t one that should heavily impact their chances of winning.

A 2-0 start for the Super Bowl runners-up would be an ideal way to start the year and defeating the Vikings has become somewhat of a pastime for the Eagles and their rampant fans. Can they further infuriate the Purple People Eaters on Thursday?
