Pitching matchup
Taijuan Walker (13-5, 4.03 ERA) vs Kyle Harrison (debut)
Taijuan Walker’s season-long resurgence has been a joy for Phillies fans to watch. He hasn’t allowed more than 4 runs in a game since May 1st against the Dodgers. Maintaining a 4.25 ERA through his last 7 games, Walker has been as reliable as pitchers come and will face a team averaging just .238 this season in what should be a favorable matchup.
Across from Walker will be MLB debutant Kyle Harrison. He maintained a 4.33 ERA through 20 games for the Giant’s AAA affiliates so it will be interesting to see how he fares against an offense this explosive. The odds wouldn’t seem to favor him, however.

Giants vs Phillies Betting preview
The Phillies’ offense has been red-hot recently. Batting .339 over their last 3 games, the Phils have put up 7+ runs in 4 of their last 6 games. Now facing a debuting pitcher, a total of 9.5 feels a tad low given that the Phils covered this total last night by themselves. I don’t mind backing the OVER here at all.
If you’re looking for props – Kyle Schwarber is my main of choice today. Facing a rookie pitcher is always an advantage, but doing so when red-hot is a significant one. He has 3 home runs in his last 5 games along with 4 hits and 6 RBI’s. Schwarber is +330 to hit a home run tonight and -115 to combine for 1.5+ hits, runs and RBI’s.
