Eagles vs Colts: Best bets, TV schedule & betting preview for NFL preseason matchup
There’s just one last stop between now and the start of the 2023 NFL regular season. The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night for what will be their final preseason contest. They’re 0-1-1 so far and will be hoping to end the preseason with a win.
We’ve made a handy guide for anyone looking to bet on Eagles vs Colts this Thursday.

Eagles vs Colts: preseason analysis
As with any preseason game, don’t expect the starting quarterbacks to be suiting up in Eagles vs Colts. Tanner McKee and Ian Book will likely take the bulk of reps for Philadelphia, while the Colts will protect rookie Anthony Richardson and likely turn the offense over to Sam Ehlinger for the majority of the game.
Is it time to bet the points total in Eagles vs Colts?
The Eagles are underdogs here but covered against Baltimore and tied against the Browns in a messy affair. Tanner McKee has been the difference offensively, playing confidently and moving the unit down the field. He ranks 10th in preseason passing yards and is yet to throw a pick.
Conversely, Sam Ehlinger maintains a 99.2 passer rating through his preseason appearances despite not yet finding the endzone. The Indianapolis Colts QB threw for 124 yards and rushed for a further 60 in their first win of the preseason last week. He was also electric last preseason.
With two in-form quarterbacks competing against the third and fourth stringers, this total could quite comfortably soar over the total of 38.5.
The Colts have scored 43 points through 2 games while the Eagles have put up 38. Both defenses have given up 19+ points per game. The motive to bet the OVER is as about as clear as it could possibly be.
Will we see Jonathan Taylor?
Obviously, the big news is Jonathan Taylor’s trade status. Now having his name floated around to NFL teams, Taylor could be an interesting figure to watch on Thursday night. He isn’t going to play, but could be available for an interview and at the very least is bound to be spoken about by the coach, owner, and likely the broadcasters.
Could the Eagles have their eyes set on landing Jonathan Taylor? They’ll have the chance to do some sneaky due diligence while the Colts are in town.

Eagles vs Colts betting pick
Aside from betting the OVER, I do like the Eagles to win outright. They’re yet to win this preseason and Nick Sirianni is a coach who will want to instill a sense of urgency in his team. At +170, I like the odds of this Eagles team at home taking care of business.
With a deep secondary including the likes of Kelee Ringo and Sydney Brown who will undoubtedly see plenty of playing time, I can’t imagine a stripped-back Colts offense doing too much damage against this Eagles defense – especially one that’s just inherited Zach Cunningham, who is still competing for a starting role.
