Chiefs vs. Saints: Preseason Analysis
Several key Chiefs will miss the first game of the preseason. Among them are running back Isaiah Pacheco, wide receiver Kaddarius Toney, and cornerback L’Jarius Snead. Then there’s the question of whether or not defensive tackle Chris Jones will take the field. My advice? Don’t bet on it.
While those names are expected to be absent, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is set to take the field and is expected to play roughly a quarter’s worth of football. The reigning Super Bowl and regular MVP does not have a single thing to prove this preseason, but it also doesn’t take much for him to slice up the opposition.
The Saints meanwhile have, well it’s not quite a quarterback controversy so much as it is a situation in which the team is hoping one of their to former highly touted QBs can take the reigns. Derek Carr is the clear favorite for the moment after all the Saints gave up to acquire him but the leash is not unending and with former first overall pick Jameis Winston waiting in the wings, there will remain a sense of pressure until Carr firmly establishes himself in NOLA.
Chiefs vs. Saints: betting pick
With MVP Patrick Mahomes to take the field for the first quarter and duo of QBs looking to prove themselves in New Orleans, we could be set to watch a somewhat high-scoring affair.
Take the over at 37.5 today.
