The Philadelphia Phillies dropped a game to the Brewers last night but don’t have long to wait for a chance at revenge. Having won 6 of their last 10, the Fightin’s will look to keep the good times going against Milwaukee on Thursday at around midday.

Pitching matchup

Taijuan Walker (11-3, 4.00 ERA) vs Corbin Burnes (8-5, 3.73 ERA)

Taijuan Walker has been one of the most pleasant surprises in all of Baseball this season. Coming into the month of July, he had only allowed 3 runs in his last five games. In two games through this month, he’s allowed 6. It’s not a huge regression as much as it is a gentle drop back down to normality after an almost inhumanly good start to the year.

He now faces a real challenge in going toe-to-toe with Corbin Burnes, who went six scoreless innings in his most recent start. Burnes has been very solid this season and with two strong pitchers taking to the mound, a low-scoring game could be on the cards.

Phillies vs Brewers Betting preview

As far as some logical props go, there is some value to be had. While Bryce Harper is yet to record home run in this series, he is currently riding a seven-game hit streak. He’s also scored a run 30 times. At +180 to record an RBI, I like those odds.

Elsewhere, I like Christian Yellich to record 1.5+ hits at +170. Milwaukee’s offense is inconsistent, but Yellich has 11 hits in his last 10 games. While only two of those have been multi-hitters, he did record a hit against Walker when the sides last clashed. There is some slight value here on a player who has cooled off a little as of late but could very easily find his footing if Walker’s form continues to bottom out.

In terms of game lines, I do like the UNDER here. This is a strong pitching matchup and neither offense was able to light the scoreboard on fire in easier showdowns.
