There are only couple of months remaining in the 2023 PGA Tour season and things are only heating up. The Open Championship is finally here. Taking place at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, The Open will see the very best in the world duel it out for a place in the history books. From a betting perspective, there are so many names to flirt with and there is always the potential for a truly heroic underdog story. We’ve found 5 deep-value picks worth backing this week.

Best Deep Value plays at The Open
Robert Macintyre +8000
It could be a good time to buy the dip on Rob Macintyre. He’s finished inside the top-10 in each THREE of performances at the Open Championship and came 2nd at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open last week. He’s in good form, thrives on Links courses, and is somehow more expensive than he was last year.
Brian Harman +9000
Harman started this week at +13000 and has been bet down to +9000, showing some significant positive movement from public bettors. When looking at his form as of late, it’s not hard to see why.
He came 12th at the Scottish Open last week and 9th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in the week beforehand. Even more impressively, he came 2nd place in the tournament before that and 43rd at the U.S Open. He’s been red-hot as of late and also thrives on Links courses.
He’s had two top-20 finishes in his last two entries at The Open and is exactly the kind of Golfer who will thrive at Royal Liverpool. Harman ranks 3rd in approaches from 50-75 yards out of the rough and 14th in driving accuracy. There’s no reason he shouldn’t go well this weekend.

Min Woo Lee +7000
Min Woo Lee is rapidly becoming one of Golf’s brightest young talents. He’s settling into life on the PGA Tour very nicely and has made five consecutive cuts, two of them being top-10 finishes. He also came 35th at the Scottish Open last week.
Min Woo Lee finished 21st at last year’s Open Championship and that’s not the only Major he’s fared well in. He came 5th in this year’s U.S Open and 18th in the 2023 PGA Championship. He’s +700 to finish inside the top-10 at The Open which is certainly an appealing bet for a player who proved just last week how well he’s able to adapt to Links conditions.
Tom Kim +6500
Another star in the making, Tom Kim has been a joy to watch this season. He came 6th at the Scottish Open but is yet to win in 2023, but that could all change with a strong showing at Royal Liverpool.
Kim came 47th in last year’s Open Championship but has matured a lot since then. He ranks 10th on approach coming into The Open and 4th in Driving Accuracy – two metrics one has to be prolific in to have a chance of winning this event.
Jordan Spieth +3000
It’s been an interesting year for Jordan Spieth. From a 5th place finish at The Memorial to a missed cut at the U.S Open, it’s very much been a feast or famine year for him. However, Spieth has the ability to thrive at Links courses and has displayed it on several occasions.
The American has five top-10 finishes at The Open to his name, with 3 of those being a top-5 and of course the win back in 2017. At +3000, I’ll happily back one of the most creative players on tour to circumvent some of the many challenges Royal Liverpool has at its disposal.
