Alexander Bublik to beat Mackenzie McDonald -240
Bublik is the 24-seed coming into Wimbledon and has made it to the third round in back-to-back years. He most recently won the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle which is also played on Grass. A lot of the big names this week will have ridiculous odds pricing because the chance of an upset is so slim. Bublik’s success hasn’t really been priced in and he should comfortably win here.
Lorenzo Musetti to beat Juan Pablo Varillas -1600
See what I mean about the odds? Musetti is the 15th ranked player here and has reached the round of 16 in each of his last 4 tournaments, including a quarterfinals appearance in London just a couple of weeks ago. He’s in form and coming up against the 60th-ranked player in the ATP rankings. This should be a very easy win.
Albert Ramos to beat Hubert Hurkacz +850
If you want to build a parlay of nothing but bankers, then feel free to add anyone -800 or lower. But I like chaos, and I really like Albert Ramos to give Hurkacz a run for his money here.
These two met at the Canadian Open in 2022 and Hurkacz does hold a 2-0 record over Ramos, but the #18 in the world did lose in the second round at Halle a couple of weeks ago.
Ramos-Vinolas is a clay specialist who hasn’t got out of the first round of Wimbledon for five years. However, Hurkacz could be vulnerable and despite his much more impressive year, he’s faltered as of late.
Hurkacz really struggles to put games away. He can stay in games and really push his opponents to the limit, winning by sheer resilience, but this isn’t going to be a walkover that Vegas thinks it will be.
I don’t mind throwing a wildcard into this parlay to juice up the odds, hoping for some Wimbledon magic to strike the Spaniard at just the right time.
Solane Stephens to beat Rebecca Peterson -225
Stephens is ranked 38 in the world and her opponent is ranked 72nd. Prior to a 4th-round defeat in the French Open, Stephens won the WTA 125 title and has a 17-12 record on the year. Peterson does hold the advantage of winning their lone matchup back in 2019, but a first-round exit in her last tournament may dent confidence and she is ranked a lot lower than her opponent. Stephens is the better player here and the odds seem to be chalking this up to a very even contest. Take the value while it’s there.
