No one typically thinks the last Philadelphia Flyers season was particularly movie worthy. Finishing 31-38-13 and seventh in the Metropolitan Division doesn’t inspire thoughts of filmmaking.
Well, apparently it does.
Philadelphia Flyers’ Emmy Award-winning in-house content shop, On the Fly Productions, announced it will introduce the latest Flyers offseason docuseries Liftoff: Embarking on a New Era of Hockey. The exciting new multi-episode digital series will debut on Wednesday, May 24.
The Flyers are preparing to lift off
Fans get to follow Philadelphia’s offseason, starting with the introduction of President of Hockey Operations Keith Jones and General Manager Daniel Briere. They both join the organization’s senior leadership team along with Head Coach John Tortorella.
Jones could not contain his excitement.
What’s exciting to me is that we’ve consistently said we are going to build this team the right way and with this series, we are telling that story in real time as it is unfolding.”Keith Jones 5/23/23
Viewers will get to see the road to the 2023 NHL Draft and free agency with all of it leading to player development camp. Coming off the heels of the success of the team’s 2022 offseason docuseries, The Standard, provided a behind-the-scenes look into players’ offseason preparation under Torts.
Full episodes of Liftoff will be released periodically on the teams’ Official YouTube Channel and PhiladelphiaFlyers.com.
