The NBA playoffs are here and the Sixers made light work of the Brooklyn Nets in the first round, sweeping them 4-0. While there are still questions to be asked about the long-term health of Joel Embiid and how the team will fare in a series against the Celtics, it’s hard not to be impressed with the level of dominance displayed. How has this impacted the team’s odds ahead of the postseason?

Betting on the Sixers

There are plenty of ways to bet on the success of the Sixers. Joel Embiid is now nearly a guaranteed home-run hit to win the MVP Award if you fancy betting on the drought to finally come to an end, and of course, you can bet both individual games as well the Sixers to win it all.

NBA Odds: Sixers odds drop after sweeping the Nets

Boston Celtics+250

Phoenix Suns+400
Philadelphia 76ers+800
Denver Nuggets+850
Los Angeles Lakers+1100
Golden State Warriors+1300
Sacramento Kings+3500

Sixers to win the 2022-23 NBA Championship: +800

The Sixers are well-positioned to push for a strong playoff push and things started in dream-like fashion. A dominant series win over the Nets sees them advance to the second round without ever really breaking a sweat. As a result, their odds are now +800 after opening the playoffs at +1000. This is a great time to back the team.

As for who they’ll play next – it’ll be either the Boston Celtics or Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics currently lead the series 2-1. In fact, the Sixers are they only team in the East to complete a sweep in the opening round.

The Celtics are favorites to win it all, so if the Hawks could find a way to spring a surprise, it would definitely benefit the Sixers and give them an easier path to the NBA Finals.

Let’s use the Eagles as an example. They were +4000 to win the Super Bowl following the NFL Draft. After an undefeated opening four games. As we all know, they were only a few drives away from turning a lotto-ticket bet into a winner, and the cashout prior to the game would’ve been huge.

How about Joel Embiid? The Cameroonian was tied with Luka Doncic at +500 before the beginning of the season. Jokic had been the man at the top of the totem pole for most of the season prior to a late surge from Embiid that finally tilted the scales in his favor.

The good news is that you can take advantage of a sign-up offer, like the one for BetRivers below, and bag yourself a risk-free bet on the Sixers to win it all. Worst case, you lose nothing. Best case, your returns are more than double what you would’ve gotten if you’d wagered without the offer.
