The Sixers go into Wednesday’s game against Brooklyn with a 2-0 series lead having successfully taken care of business at home. Two impressive wins with meat still left on the bone is exactly what the Doctor ordered for the City of Brotherly Love, but can they keep the momentum rolling on the road?

Sixers vs Nets betting preview
The Philadelphia 76ers have been unstoppable up to this point. Neither win was the most convincing in the world, but the fact that the Sixers have won by 12 and 20 points respectively despite some sluggish starts and sloppy turnovers speaks volumes when it comes to the gulf in quality between the two teams.
Will that change with Brooklyn’s back to the wall? Potentially. But the Nets are only 20-21 at home (ATS) and it’s not like anything thunderously changed after their trade deadline antics. They’re 5-8 ATS at home when playing as underdogs this year and 1-5 head-to-head with Philly. The spread only being 5 points feels way too low and the ‘homecourt advantage’ really isn’t that substantial when you look into it.
Game 2 saw the rise of both Tyrese Maxey (Sixers) and Cameron Johnson (Nets). The two combined for 61 points on the night, showing that it’s more than just Embiid & Harden (Sixers) and Mikal Bridges (Nets) who can provide value for bettors.
With that said, the home leg for Brooklyn will be taken seriously. I think the most value comes in the way of Nicholas Claxton +8.5 rebounds (-115). The Nets have tried to double and triple-team Embiid over the past two nights with little success, although their opponent’s shooting has been sporadic. A focus on scoring clinically and Philadelphia’s inconsistency from deep should bode for a healthy dose of rebounds for Claxton, who averages 8 per contest in this series and averages 9.2 per game on the season.

Elsewhere, Joel Embiid has struggled to get going in terms of scoring this postseason for very obvious reasons. It’s hard to get open with 3 opposing players draped over you and there are two ways to play this. The good news is that Embiid’s points totals have dropped dramatically. Embiid to score 30+ points is now only -145 and while he’s yet to eclipse that total this series, a focus on speeding up the transition play may just give Embiid some breathing room to stretch his wings.
Best bet to place on Nets vs Sixers
If we’re being honest, the Nets should perform better on Wednesday, but can they? The Sixers won’t want to let complacency set in and they’ve won both of their last games by double-digit margins. I think they comfortably win by at least 6 here, giving some value on the +5 spread.
