Eagles vs Bears promises to be a thriller

The Philadelphia Eagles are now 12-1 after steamrolling the New York Giants this past weekend. Next up on the agenda is a clash with the lowly Chicago bears, who despite the best efforts of Justin Fields, sit at a paltry 3-10 on the season.

Eagles vs Bears betting preview

The Eagles have answered every question asked of them so far. They went from being one of the lowest-scoring second-half teams in the entire league to ranking 3rd in the last 3 weeks, decimating anyone that stands in front of them with a dynamic offense led by MVP candidate, Jalen Hurts.

Chicago’s defense ranks 19th on the season and 27th against the run. This is bad news considering that Jalen Hurts has 10 rushing touchdowns to his name and Miles Sanders has just eclipsed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. The Eagles may have a lethal passing attack, but make no mistake, this is still a run-first team that will just keep the chains moving thanks to a thundering offensive line and the talent that sits in behind it.

There is some good news for the Bears. They’ll be getting Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon back from injury on defense and on offense, there is at least some reason for optimism. They’re coming off a bye week which may well have benefited offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy, as he continues to find ways to unlock the scorching potential of Justin Fields. While he’s still turning the ball over a little too frequently, the fact he has 481 yards of rushing over the last 4 weeks should remind you of another quarterback who had some sizeable leaps to take in his development but continued to flash greatness. That man is now a leading MVP candidate.

As far as Fields is concerned, he may have to do most of his best work outside of the pocket. The Eagles now have a stunning 49 sacks on the season and Chicago are giving up around 3.2 per game, ranking 29th in the NFL. It could be a long day at the office for the young quarterback if the Eagles get rolling early.

Eagles vs Bears Betting pick

The Eagles being favored by more than two possessions is heavy, but this should be another mismatch. I like the over here. The Eagles are nearly covering these game totals by themselves at this point and the Bears should at least be able to rush their way to a couple of scores.

I also really like Jalen Hurts to score an anytime TD

Pick: Eagles -9
