Canada vs Morocco

We’re getting into crunch time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage and we could have another upset on the cards. Canada’s spirited effort against Croatia didn’t go unnoticed, but Morocco’s shocking 2-0 over Belgium stole the spotlight. Canada is, unfortunately, heading home after this game, but that same fate may not apply to Morocco.

Canada vs Morocco betting preview

The mission is simple for Morocco. Avoid defeat against a Canada side only playing for pride, and they’re through to the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Even if they lose, a tie between Croatia and Belgium would grant them free entry regardless. They’ve absolutely earned their spot after their incredible win over Belgium, but have to ensure they don’t lift off the gas now…especially as a date with Spain/Germany likely lies ahead.

Canada will be hoping to end their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with at least a point on the board. They were able to grab a goal thanks to Alphonso Davies, but they should’ve really gotten more against a disappointing Belgium team. A missed penalty and poor finishing in the box cost them dearly.

Will they be able to find any momentum against a Morrocan side playing with all the confidence in the world? That’s a tough question to answer. The Canadian manager may also decide to use this as an opportunity to give some bench players a run-around before the journey back home.

Canada vs Morocco betting pick

I think Morocco gets it done here. There is too much riding on this game and even when Canada have been given opportunities on a silver platter, they’ve been squandered. As much as they’ll want to end their campaign on a high, as we saw with Wales against England, the wind can be knocked from those sails very quickly.
