France vs Tunisia

After a myriad of upsets in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, are we about to see one more? Tunisia needs a win against the defending champions and a Denmark win or tie against Australia in order to sneak through to the knockout stage. But a win against France is hardly something that’s easy to come by.

France vs Tunisia betting preview

Needing a win against France is one thing, but it’s another when you’re yet to score in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. A 1-0 loss to Australia this past weekend might well have dented confidence and this is not the side to play nervously against.

However, what may work in their favor is the fact that Les Bleus might well decide to rest some of their starting XI. This is a bit tricky when you consider the injury setbacks already cutting into depth, but going into the knockouts with fatigue isn’t ideal and this is an extremely winnable game. They only need a point to qualify and can probably do that with a lot of squad rotation, although it will at least open the doors for Tunisia if that is the case.

The concern is that even though the French might decide to rotate their squad, that would still put Mandanda in goal, a proven veteran who has represented his nation at three World Cups now. It would still see a physically intimidating defense against a Tunisian attack that is yet to find the back of the net.

France vs Tunisia betting pick

France don’t need to pull out all the bells and whistles for a win here and Tunisia’s poor efforts in front of goal against some pretty beatable opponents is worrying. I’d be very tempted to bet France & under 2.5 goals here at +230. It’s a way to get value on France and also parlay every other external factor we know so far.
