USA vs Wales

The second and final game of Group B tomorrow sees the USMNT take on Wales. This is bound to be a game that captures the eyes of non-soccer fans. Whether it’s household names like Gareth Bale, or US wonderkids like Brendan Aaronson and Christian Pulisic, there’s plenty to watch.

USA vs Wales betting preview

Well, this is it. It’s been a long road back to the World Cup for the USMNT, but they looked primed to make some noise in a group that they should really be able to push out of fairly easily so long as they can get a result here. A loss against England wouldn’t matter should they take care of business here and against a very beatable Iran side.

Wales are always a tricky team to play, but they’re ice cold, having dropped 4 of their last 6 games. They boast some Premier League quality in the way of Dan James, Neco Williams and former Spurs star Gareth Bale, but depth is thin. Joe Allen should be 100% but has been battling injury for a while, and outside of their starting 11 lie a ton of Football League products such as former Charlton man, Tom Lockyer.

The US doesn’t have that kind of experience, however. 25 of their 26 players in Qatar will be hoping to make their World Cup debuts and the average age of the squad is 24. There could be some real teething problems, but it’s necessary for the team to build a foundation for years to come.

The attacking third will be the area to watch if you’re rooting for the USMNT. Whether it’s Aaronson, Ferreira, or Josh Sargeant from Norwich, there is a lot of explosiveness in and around the box that could be tricky for Wales to contain.

USA vs WALES betting pick

This is going to be a really tight contest and I don’t see an edge for either team. The inexperience the US should be offset by its talent, but whether that will be enough to win is anyone’s guess.

I’ll be betting over 2.5 goals at +145
