Week 2 of the NFL season is here as the Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the Minnesota Vikings in the second matchup of a double-duty Monday night matchup. After a thrilling win over the Detroit Lions in Week 1, the Birds look to make it a streak in the home debut.

Newly acquired wideout A.J. Brown nearly tore the roof off in Detroit and Jalen Hurts ran up and down the field last Sunday. There is plenty of excitement building about the Philadelphia Eagles, can they keep it up is the question. As the team gets ready for their tough test Week 2, you can join the fun and wager on your favorite Birds for Monday night.

Must-play props for Eagles vs. Vikings

Week 2 presents and even tougher task than last Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings are widely considered and even more difficult opponent than the Detroit Lions.

The Minnesota Vikings boast a powerful offensive attack and a talented front seven on defense. They will certainly present a big-time challenge for Philadelphia but there are plenty of reasons to hope for a team-friendly outcome.

Here are three Philly props to pick for Monday night:

A.J. Brown | Over Total Receiving Yards

Keep. It. Simple.

After dominating in his Philadelphia Eagles debut, it would be a lot to ask of A.J. Brown to repeat that level of production in Week 2, but it’s clear that he’s the featured receiver of the offense now and going forward. From both a yardage and volume perspective, A.J. Brown is set to lead this wide receiver core.

Against a week secondary (Harrison Smith excluded), expect Jalen Hurts to be able to move the ball through the air and, like last week, find his favorite target early and often.

Take the over here.

Jalen Hurts | Over Total Passing Yards

Jalen Hurts impressed in his Week 1 win over Detroit and is hoping to keep it up against Minnesota. He wasn’t perfect from the pocket but he was clearly improved over last season. With an arsenal including A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert, and Devonta Smith, Hurts seems ready to take a big step forward as a passer this season.

Against a poor Minnesota secondary, Jalen Hurts could easily be looking at 250+ yards passing. Taking the over is a no-brainer in this situation and looks to be until sportsbooks show respect for his developed passing acumen.

Once again, bet the over.

Devonta Smith | Over Total Receiving Yards

Devonta Smith was targeted just four times and managed exactly zero receptions in week one. Will he be downtrodden? Will he be caught up in his feelings? No, he’ll be motivated, just as Jalen Hurts will also be to spread the wealth in Week 2.

There are times when targets favor the number one wideout; that’s just the reality of having a top-tier receiver like A.J. Brown. The Vikings saw this just last week as Adam Thielen tallied just 36 yards on four targets compared to Justin Jefferson’s 184 on 11 targets.

This week, however, Smith will remind many of why he was such a highly touted prospect coming out of college.

You can already smell a Devonta Smith anytime touchdown cooking for this Monday night matchup.
