Eight in a row. The Philadelphia Phillies have not lost since Rob Thomson blessed the city with Canadian maples.
If syrup’s too sweet for you, this won’t be. In June, the Phillies turned their run differential from 0 to +36. Oh, oh, oh, Canada.
Sometimes change for the sake of change is a good thing—Phillies by 90.
Pitching matchup – Saturday, 6/11 – 4:05p @ Citizens Bank Park
Madison Bumgarner (2-5, 3.64 ERA) v. Zack Wheeler (4-3, 3.14 ERA)
Bumgarner, like us all, had a rough May, sporting a 5.33 ERA. That said, he’s been a bit of a bugaboo for a couple of Phils. Bryce Harper’s hitting .208 in 24 at-bats against MadBum and Kyle Schwarber isn’t much better, with just one hit in twelve attempts.
Wheeler hasn’t been as lucky against the D-Backs. Ketel Marte (.375 B.A. in eight A.B.s) and Christian Walker (.667 B.A. in nine A.B.s) have had their pick of the litter against the former Met. Keep an eye on those two.
Series Spotlight
Schwarber, baby. Co-Most home runs in the National League. That’s it.
P.S. traded him in fantasy for Connor Joe.
Phillies Daily Fantasy Pick of the Day
Nick Castellanos. He’s suddenly become undervalued at $2,900 on FanDuel.
He finally gets a lefty today. He’s hitting .302 against the southpaws despite his -0.3 WAR on the year.
Phillies vs. Diamondbacks Betting information
Things have gotten a little too lovely around here. With that, I like Diamondbacks +1.5 and over 8.5 runs. Parlay those, and you get almost 3-to-1 odds. Savvy?
