Elite DC prospect Devon Dinkins is a three-star point guard out of Gonzaga high school. He is the 208th ranked prospect, 40th ranked point guard and 4th ranked prospect in DC for the 2022 basketball class. He talked to me about what schools are contacting him the most and more for Philly Sports Network.

Leader: Gonzaga has continued to produce impressive prospects. What makes Gonzaga high school such a special program?

Devin: What makes Gonzaga a special program is a winning tradition, the great coaching you receive, and all the great players that have been in the program.

Leader: What were the stats from your best game so far this year?

Devin: This year my best stat line was 28 points and 5 assists.

Leader: What type of fit are you looking for in a program? What type of offense fits you best?

Devin: The program fit I’m looking for is a place where I build a great relationship with the coaching staff and a program that can push me to better myself on and off the court. I am looking for an offense that plays through their guards and lets them make plays, also incorporating a lot of ball screens.

Leader: What teams stay in contact with you the most at this time?

Devin: I stay in contact with Georgetown and Virginia Tech the most.

Leader: Penn State and LaSalle are two programs recruiting you. Can you tell me how you feel about both of these Pennsylvania programs?

Devin: Penn State and LaSalle are two offers I received last year and are great programs. Penn State is in the Big Ten and has great competition every night and  Lasalle lets their guards play. Both Programs have Gonzaga alum playing for them.

Leader: Are any other programs out of the Pennsylvania area taking a look at you?

Devin: I have recently talked to Pittsburgh.

Leader: Any virtual or on-campus visits planned?

Devin: No visits planned yet.

Leader: You stated Georgetown was one of the schools recruiting you and you? What stands out about the Hoyas?

Devin: Georgetown is close to home and my family can come to all of my home games. I like what they are building and I have built a great relationship with coach Patrick Ewing and coach Akbar Waheed.
