The Washington Wizards are becoming more and more desperate as time goes by. With a current 3-8 record, the team is facing a crucial juncture. The crux of which is the decision on whether or not they should trade star Bradley Beal.

The two-time all-star has voiced on many occasions that he would like to remain a Wizard but he would also like for the team to find some semblance of competence.

Washington just can’t seem to get it right though and the Wizards find themselves bottom-dwellers in the East yet again. Coaching rumors have even begun to surface as it seems Scott Brooks is on the hot seat.

As the Wizards find only more and more reasons to rebuild, it was a forgone conclusion that the “sharks” would soon be circling Bradley Beal.

Could The Sixers Free Bradley Beal?

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, that time is now.

O’Connor reported that “With the Wizards in disarray, teams thirsting for a blockbuster trade are increasingly shifting their gaze toward Beal.”

No surprising news there but what he had to say next should excite Philly fans.

O’Connor mentioned two teams by name, those being the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers. Not only that, but O’Connor was quick to proclaim the Sixers the more serious of the two teams as Brooklyn is not currently flush with assets.

“Most people around the league consider Brooklyn a fairly unlikely destination to land a star considering it lacks a high-value player or asset to put into a deal.”

With the loss of impending free agent Spencer Dinwiddie to an ACL tear, the Nets would fall short of the types of offers the Sixers can offer. A deal centered around Simmons or Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and picks would be much more attractive than an offer of Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen (RFA).

Darly Morey and the Sixers will be sure to do their due diligence as the league approaches the trade deadline. With the recent rumors that James Harden may remain in Houston, all attention turns to Bradley Beal as the top trade target.
