When it rains, it pours! The Eagles are wasting no time in trying to find a replacement for Doug Pederson. Moments after Adam Schefter reported that the Eagles have requested an interview with Robert Saleh, news emerged that the Eagles submitted two more interview requests.

Arthur Smith

Another hot property among teams vying to find their next Head Coach, Arthur Smith was recently interviewed by the Atlanta Falcons on the back of a stellar 2020 campaign with the Titans. The team ranked third in the league in total yards per game, second in rushing yards, and of course, facilitated the dominance of Derrick Henry and his dominant 2,000-yard season.

Perhaps most interestingly, Smith has been with the Titans since 2011 and has worked with some notable quarterback names. Ryan Tannehill is 18-8 since joining Tennessee, amassing 6,561 passing yards, 55 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and a 67% completion percentage. That’s a big resurgence and could be a huge appeal for a team desperately looking to rebuild a broken quarterback.

Todd Bowles

Hitting copy and paste on Atlanta’s journey for the second time today, Todd Bowles is the next man on the list and the second candidate who specializes on the defensive side of the ball.

Bowles coordinated a dominant Tampa defense in 2020. They had the best run defense in the entire NFL (80.6 yards per game!) and surrendered only 22 points per matchup. Bowled watched his unit amass 25 takeaways.

Prior to his stint tint Tampa, he spent four years coaching the New York Jets, totaling a 24-40 record. He also worked as an interim coach with the Miami Dolphins at the end of the 2011 season, going 2-1 in the process. With previous Head Coaching experience and a history of running stout defenses, Bowles could be another intriguing hire.

It’s certainly worth noting that the Eagles seem to be shifting their attention to the defensive side of the ball, but a lot can change between now and the time in which they make a decision.

Stay tuned for updates.
